LTE Christmas Bake-Off 2019

On the 12th December 2019 LTE hosted it’s first Christmas Bake Off in aid of charity.

An exciting day for all, combining Christmas jumper day with our very own bake off with all proceeds from cake sales going towards the Save the Children charity.

It was a fierce competition for our aspiring-bakers with only one being crowned star baker 2019, and getting to take home the coveted £25 Lakeland voucher reward!
An impressive 9 cakes were brought in to be inspected and taste-tested by our panel of 3 judges. Judged on appearance, taste, skill and Christmas factor with some exceptional cakes in the line-up.

The stage was set for the judging panel who were keenly looking forward to sampling each of the delectable delights on offer, and so the judging began behind closed doors, beyond the influence of the bakers.

After an intense 30 minutes the judges finally decided on their winner, it was a close call but cake #1, a tasty chocolate sponge cake with Christmas decor was the judges favourite. The contestants were called back in for the awarding of the vouchers and the sale of cakes began.

Congratulations to all our bakers for their fantastic efforts, all 9 cakes were first-class!

We are proud to announce that as a result of cake sales and Christmas jumper donations we raised a total of £64.60 for the Save the Children charity, Well done to everyone who got involved!
