Laboratories are constantly evolving. Changing workloads, growing demands for efficiency and increasingly limited space are influencing how laboratories approach the equipment they rely on every day. For many facilities, flexibility is becoming just as important as performance, with a need for equipment that can adapt to their requirements without creating unnecessary installation or infrastructure demands.

Autoclaves are no exception. As laboratories look for ways to optimise their workflows and make better use of available space and resources, there is a growing need for sterilisation equipment that combines reliable performance with a more practical approach to installation, power requirements and footprint.

Introducing LTE’s new Touchclave-V+ Eco  80L Autoclave, a flexible sterilisation solution designed to meet the changing needs of modern laboratories. Combining 13A Plug & Play installation, Category 3 capability, enhanced energy savings and a compact physical footprint, the Touchclave-V+ Eco is designed to provide reliable, high-capacity sterilisation without demanding extensive infrastructure or valuable laboratory space. Offering greater flexibility in how and where it can be installed, the new Touchclave-V+ Eco provides laboratories with a practical solution that can adapt to the demands of today’s working environments.

Plug & Play: Greater Installation Flexibility

Installing an autoclave can often require careful consideration of a laboratory’s existing infrastructure, particularly when it comes to electrical requirements. For facilities with limited space or restricted access to higher-power supplies, these requirements can influence where equipment can be installed and add unnecessary complexity to the process.

The Touchclave-V+ Eco is designed with flexibility in mind. Featuring 13A plug and play installation, allowing laboratories to connect the autoclave to aa standard 13A electrical supply. This helps to simplify installation and making it easier to integrate into existing laboratory environments.

With an 80L chamber, the Touchclave-V+ Eco’s compact design offers a practical option for laboratories that need reliable sterilisation without the infrastructure demands of larger autoclaves. Its Plug & Play design provides greater flexibility over where the unit can be positioned, while helping to minimise installation requirements and disruption.

Category 3 Capability

In facilities which are designed to handle indigenous or exotic agents that can cause serious or potentially lethal disease through respiratory transmission or inhalation such as Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3 / Containment Level 3), effective containment and sterilisation are essential. Autoclaves used in these environments must be capable of preventing potentially harmful pathogens from escaping through the exhaust or drainage system during the sterilisation process.

The Touchclave-V+ Eco Autoclave offers a Category 3 filter as standard, providing an additional level of protection when processing potentially hazardous biological material. During operation, condensate is returned to the chamber for further sterilisation, while exhaust air is passed through the Category 3 filter before being released.

This helps prevent harmful pathogens, bacteria and viruses from escaping the autoclave, supporting safer handling of high-risk biohazardous waste, infectious materials and biological agents.

Compact Design and Low-Power Sterilisation

Laboratory space is often at a premium, with facilities needing to make the most of limited working areas without compromising on essential equipment. For laboratories with tight space restrictions, choosing a sterilisation system with a smaller footprint can provide greater flexibility when planning or adapting the working environment.

The Touchclave-V+ Eco has been designed with a compact footprint, making it well suited to laboratories where available space is limited. Its space-conscious design allows high-performance sterilisation to be integrated into smaller working environments without taking up unnecessary floor space.

Alongside its compact design, the Touchclave-V+ Eco has been developed with low power output and energy efficiency in mind. Testing demonstrated a reduction of approximately 40-50% in energy consumption in each cycle when compared to standard autoclave models, showcasing that the new Touchclave-V+ Eco provides a more sustainable solution for your facility, reducing both environmental impact and energy costs.

By reducing the power required for operation, it provides a smarter approach to sterilisation, helping laboratories make more efficient use of available energy while maintaining reliable performance. This makes the Touchclave-V+ Eco a practical choice for facilities looking to optimise energy use without compromising on essential sterilisation processes.

A Flexible Solution for Modern Laboratories

As laboratory environments continue to evolve, sterilisation equipment needs to offer flexibility alongside reliable performance. The Touchclave-V+ Eco combines 13A Plug & Play installation, Category 3 capability, low power output and a compact footprint to meet the practical needs of modern laboratories.

Designed to make efficient use of both space and available infrastructure, the Touchclave-V+ Eco provides a practical sterilisation solution for a wide range of laboratory environments.
