LTE offer a comprehensive range of high-quality, specialized equipment, designed to meet the stringent demands of advanced scientific research. Our products include: autoclaves, washer disinfectors, laboratory ovens and incubators, plus reach-in and walk-in environmental rooms for precise testing in controlled conditions.

Understanding our customers’ requirements is central to the products and services we provide. Our equipment is trusted by academic, commercial, and private laboratories across the UK and worldwide, delivering reliable performance and supporting a wide range of scientific fields including biology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals.

Autoclaves: Eliminating Contamination and Safe Disposal of Hazardous Materials

Autoclaves are essential for sterilizing laboratory instruments, glassware, media, and other materials. They use high-pressure saturated steam at high temperatures, usually between 121°C and 134°C to kill bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores, ensuring that research materials remain sterile and uncontaminated.

In research environments, especially in biological and chemical labs, autoclaves serve multiple critical functions including sterilizing lab instruments and materials, sterilization of Media for microbiological research and the safe disposal of potentially dangerous hazardous materials.

Versatile Sterilization Solutions

  • Cylindrical Chambered Benchtop Autoclaves: LTE Touchclave-R benchtop autoclaves are Ideal for small research labs or individual departments, these compact units offer convenient sterilization for smaller loads, such as petri dishes, pipettes, media and small equipment.
  • Cylindrical Chambered Floor Standing Mid Capacity Autoclaves: Stepping up from the benchtop models the Touchclave-R (TCR) and Touchclave-V floor standing models are equipped with capacities from 60-litres up to 160-litres. The benefits of these are, small footprint and the ability to operate without needing to be connected to the mains water and drains, though the option is available to do so if required.
  • Large-Capacity Square Chambered Advanced Autoclaves: For larger research institutions or labs that require the sterilization of larger volumes of materials or larger instruments, LTE offers large-capacity advanced autoclaves. These are particularly useful in pharmaceutical research, industrial labs, and large clinical labs where high throughput is required. Our larger square chambered autoclaves start at 150-litres with our Touchclave-K series and can go up to an impressive 10,000-litres with our Bespoke Touchclave Systems Autoclaves. Both series can be customised with a wide range of options to increase cycle speeds and efficiencies.
  • Autoclaves for the safe disposal of hazardous materials: Research laboratories often generate biohazardous waste, such as contaminated instruments, cell cultures, or biological samples, which pose a significant health risk if not properly managed. Waste loads can be received by the autoclave as dry, wet, or mixed loads, and the autoclave will be configured to suit the required load type. Our fully trained UKAS and HTM accredited service engineering team can then provide load validations for each load type, ensuring reliable and compliant operation for the user.
LTE Scientific’s specialized waste sterilizers provide an effective solution for sterilizing and safely disposing of biohazardous waste, supporting lab safety protocols and regulatory compliance.

Depending on the biosafety level of your laboratory, any model from our standard range may be suitable, unless you are working with BSL-3 or higher. For these higher biosafety levels, the LTE Touchclave-K or Systems pass-through autoclave is typically recommended. The preferred setup for maximum safety and efficiency involves positioning the autoclave between two rooms (a contaminated area and a clean area) complete with a bio-seal to separate the room classifications, while maintaining the suite’s positive and negative pressure requirements. When working with high-level hazardous materials, a Category 3 (CAT3) filtration system should be installed on the autoclave to ensure operator safety and compliance.

Washer Disinfectors: Preventing Contamination in Research

Disinfection and Sterilization are a cornerstone of laboratory safety and research integrity, contamination can compromise the validity of experiments, skew results, and even pose health risks. LTE working in collaboration with leading Danish disinfection manufacturer KEN Hygiene can supply UK companies with the KEN IQ range of highly efficient and sustainable washer disinfectors for research support.

Unlike manual washing, which can leave residues or contaminants behind, KEN washer disinfectors use a combination of water, detergents, and heat to thoroughly clean and disinfect items.

This deep cleaning process ensures that all surfaces, even those with complex shapes or difficult-to-reach areas, like Glassware (beakers, flasks, test tubes) and laboratory instruments (forceps, scalpels, pipettes) are properly decontaminated.

The IQ range of washers is available in both under-bench and floor-standing models, with capacities reaching up to 492-litres. What truly distinguishes IQ washer disinfectors is their sustainable design, which minimizes water, energy, and chemical usage per cycle. The washers also benefit from one of the fastest cycle times on the market. This not only improves efficiencies and reduces operational costs but also supports environmental efforts.

Precision in Controlled Environments

Research often requires precisely controlled environments for growing cultures, conducting tests, and ensuring repeatability of experiments. LTE Scientific’s incubators, drying ovens, and environmental rooms and chambers provide customizable conditions for various research needs:

  • LTE IP Incubators: Provide stable environments for microbiological and cell culture research, supporting precise temperatures between the ranges of 30°C and 80°C. Available from 60-litres to 250-litres capacity.
  • LTE OP Ovens and Drying Cabinets: Enable consistent sample preparation and drying, curing, or thermal testing with uniform heat distribution. Also useful for the drying of laboratory glassware. LTE OP ovens range from 60 to 250-litres capacity and operate between temperatures of 40°C to 250°C, while our drying cabinets range from 100-litres up to 1000-litres. Our drying cabinet range also contains two energy efficient ECO-DC models which reduce energy usage by up to 50% compared to standard cabinets, helping labs to reduce energy consumption while maintaining high performance, supporting research focused on sustainability and reducing operational costs.
  • Environmental Chambers – Simulating Environmental Conditions for Research: LTE can provide completely customisable environmental rooms and reach-in chambers, to be used for a wide range of research applications. Applications including stress testing, stability testing, material and component testing and temperature-sensitive experiments, supporting research in materials science, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, manufacturing and other fields. LTE environmental rooms are modular in design allowing for complete customisation of space, temperature, Relative Humidity (RH) and more. Our expert team of technical experts are always available to discuss your requirements and help create the perfect solution.
