Raising money for macmillan cancer support
On the 20th September we held our annual Macmillan Bake-Off competition to raise essential funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
In order to raise funds and have a bit of fun doing it we decided on a bake-off competition with one lucky baker taking home the #1 baker mantle and a bottle of bubbly, followed by cake sales with all proceeds being donated to Macmillan, who provide valuable emotional, physical and financial support to people effected by Cancer.
We had 7 aspiring bakers competing for the top spot this time around with the Cakes being judged by a panel of 4 judges and scored based on appearance, taste, texture and creativity.
Our all new judging panel set about their scoring and after inspecting and savouring each tasty treat, tallied up their scores before the winner was announced. It was very close with all the cakes scoring quite high but the winner was… the white chocolate cheesecake, a worthy winner indeed.
As a result of cake sales and general donations we are thrilled to announce that we have raised a total of £85.50 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you to everyone who got involved and to everyone that donated and as always thank you to all our bakers for taking the time to participate and baking such delicious cakes!
