LTE Valentines Day Bake Off

A day to set the heart aflutter, LTE’s valentines day bake off set pulses racing with a delectable range of cakes for judging and savouring.

It was the second official LTE bake off event which everyone was looking forward to, a heart-warming love themed Valentines competition to raise money for The British Heart Foundation Charity.

Our budding bakers brought in 4 mouth-watering cakes to compete for the #1 spot with the lucky winner getting to take home a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates, the perfect gift for a romantic night in!

With the stage set, the judges were eager to get started, each entry was to be judged on appearance, taste, skill and the love factor. In the lineup from left to right we had a chocolate cake with red jelly heart topping and brownie hearts, a heart shaped sponge cake with cream and strawberries, some red velvet sponge cakes with buttercream and love heart sweets topping and last but certainly not least carrot cake topped with mini chocolate hearts.

After a good 20 minutes and much consideration the judges came to a decision, and though it was close, cake #2 the heart shaped sponge cake with cream, strawberries and mini chocolate heart toppings was the ultimate winner. The contestants were called back in for the awarding of the prize which the lovely Kim was thrilled with and the sale of cakes began.

As a result of cake sales and donations we are pleased to announce that we have raised a total of £43.30 for The British Heart Foundation charity, thank you to everyone who got involved and to everyone that donated!
